The Best Season of All

That last post was kinda schmaltzy. Feel a need to counterbalance it, so here's what's moving me today: my good friend, the television.

Anyone who knows me well knows I loves me some TV. I can watch good TV for hours and not get bored as long as the stories, characters and humor are there. So you know that with the new fall TV season, I've been beside myself (and my remote) with excitement. I've had a chance to assess most of the new and returning fare, so here they are, the series that have made the cut to be My Shows (in no particular order):

EVERWOOD: Premiered this week, and oh my gosh, just as well-written and fun -- if not more so -- than ever. Whatever preconceptions you might have about this show cuz it's on the WB, set them aside. This is smart, complicated relationships at their best. Plus a new hot gay character -- what more could you ask for?!? I might ask Ephram to get a haircut, but other than that ...

GILMORE GIRLS: Ditto on the previous WB comment. Filled with razor-sharp wit and fun characters. Okay, so I'm hating Rory right now, but I think we're supposed to. This show was great the first few seasons, faltered, but has regained some of its footing. Still has some grating moments, but anything with Michel, the French concierge, pretty much makes up for them. Also, Rory's boyfriend on the show, Logan, is one of my TV boyfriends, and he's a regular cast member this year, *swoon.*

VERONICA MARS: Greatness. Please watch! So you can probably tell from my cliche-riddled writing that I'm not so good at describing why I *heart* these shows so much. Good thing is, you don't have to take my word on this one. Joss Whedon of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fame also has a mad crush. Also, another of my TV boyfriends is on this show, coincidentally named Logan as well, hmm. Too bad it looks like he's an asshole again this year. Do you think that having more than one TV boyfriend makes me a TV slut? Discuss amongst yourselves.

COMMERCIAL BREAK: So, I'm fast discovering that I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this post, at least in one sitting. (More cliches! Doesn't it count for something that I recognize them and don't think this is by any means good writing? I suck, but at least I know I suck.) Have more shows to drool over, but it'll have to wait till next time. Meanwhile, if you've never heard of Television Without Pity, you must acquaint yourself. We all need a little snark in our lives.

I have quite a bit of situational snark in my life.

But there's always room for more.

What? No Lost? I just can't think of a time in recent history where I simply COULD NOT WAIT for the next week's installment. Who are the others? What's the deal with the hatch????
