Gobble Gobble

Thanksgiving was at my cousin Chris's house in Carmel, Ind. Got to meet some of his wife Kris's family and play with baby Nick some more. Oh yeah, and eat.

Aunt Grace standing guard over the spread. Note the dumplings! I tackled all this after having crab dip and two chocolate-covered strawberries. Mistake. But so good!

Ba with his physics-lesson coffee. Good to the last vacuumed drop, or something like that. Seriously, it's very cool to watch it brew. If you visit my folks' house in Indy, my dad'll show you!

That's Uncle Frank up top, then my cousin Dave, bro Rico, Chris and li'l Nick with me. Frank is SO ready for his close-up. Meanwhile, Rico just polished off three (3!) huge plates of food plus dessert, and I'm the one clutching my tummy. My kingdom for his metabolism!

I woke up one Thursday and decided to bring in pastries for my dept. The troop came in and asked, "is it because it's Thanksgiving today?" How strange it took German colleagues to remind me of this special day, but some in-grained programming obviously told me to gather folks around to load up on calories...Unfortunately on my own here I can only dream of that unique Chinese-American spread that's Thanksgiving as we know it. Thanks for the feast for the eye, if not the stomach!!
