Playing Catch-Up

I'm back after a six-week hiatus. Like a TV show with an ever-changing, erratic schedule, I've probably lost most of my audience by now. But for the loyal few, not to worry -- there's no chance of cancellation, although a good chance of belaboring this metaphor. (Or simile? Either way, it stops now.)

What's the excuse for my blog neglect? Well, much of my late-night blogging time has been given over to spending time with Neil (yay!). And I've been plain lazy during the day. In an effort to catch you all up, here are some snapshots from escapades in April and March:

This photo cracks me up. That's my brother stretching in preparation for a walk at the Tidal Basin. He claimed that I walked too fast and made him sore. I claimed that he was a wus.

Rico, always ready for a close-up. We wandered over to the FDR Memorial, my favorite. Too crowded with teenagers on this day, but still lovely and thought-provoking. Look, you can see my tiny head in his sunglasses!

Never met a drink that was too fruity. Finally made it up to the terrace bar of the Hotel Washington, known for its view of the Mall and downtown. Fun drinks, although they could have been stronger (that's saying a lot, coming from me!). Rico was excited to see snipers on the roof of the White House. We had a great time -- lots of good food. More on his visit on his blog.

By popular demand, a picture of Neil. *happy sigh*

With Nathan and Kendra about a day before the cherry blossoms' peak. Crazy-gorgeous! The blooms weren't bad, either. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

My friend Beth flew in for a super-fun visit over spring break. We got pedicures, she met my pals and, most important, we did some heavy-duty shopping. Here we are dressed as twins at Forever 21. Don't think anyone would buy us as twins or 21, alas.

LOL. Just some guy who has agreed to say he's my boyfriend in public. It's awesome.

Woohoo! Extreme close up of Rico. I had a blast that weekend! Can't believe it's already been more than a month!
