I'm at work trying to look busy. Usually I try to maintain a studious look while surfing the Internet. But tonight I want to avoid any mention of Wimbledon results -- have TiVo'd the day's matches (Sharapova, Henman, Roddick -- oh my!). Don't have to worry about co-workers bringing it up, though, because no one is into tennis. Not at work, not any of my friends. I'm all pumped about the tournament with no one to gab with -- no fun!
My family was into tennis when I was growing up, and my dad almost always watched the majors on TV. I later developed a huge crush on Pete Sampras (darn you, Bridgette Wilson). What's so cool about the sport (aside from the cute guys)? It's such a guts-and-glory game. Just one person pitting their skill and mental toughness against another -- either wiping the court with them or fighting it out tooth and nail. Plus I love all the international names: Federer, Henin-Hardenne, Nadal, Clijsters.
Share the joy with me! You know you want to!

I'm telling you: Go here.
Wow, I definitely can't muster that level of tennis intensity. On the other hand, I feel better for having so few comments posted! :)
Crap, Doris. You beat me to that link. Then again, I guess that was to be expected.
